Map Reading Plus - RWIAD10 Apr 2010 - £120'Right Way In A Day'is the original map reading fast-track training course. Drawing on real-world experience combined with cutting edge teaching techniques means this course is guaranteed! We guarantee that you will significantly increase your skills on this course - regardless of where you are starting from. RWIAD map reading and navigation training is entirely practical and we are very careful to progress at the speed which is most appropriate to you. As a minimum, we would predict a complete beginner would be able to confidently plan and follow routes in the hills...without the need of paths! The Mountain Experience15 May 2010 - £185Join us in Snowdonia for our well proven fast-track into mountain living! Remember that North Ridge guide this as one continuous day - the way it's meant to be done! Otherwise known as the 15 Peaks, this is an endurance challenge and a half! Fifteen 3000 foot mountains in one long day - we will guide you throughout and organise the logistics with full back up. Starting at Foel Fras in the north, we traverse the Carneddau, Glyders and the Snowdon range. Guiding ratio is normally 1:5 which means places are limited. We will be exhibiting and generaly hanging out, and like before, Duncan will be leading 2 workshops per day which are completely free of charge if you have a weekend pass! In addition, you can visit all of the other free seminars and cram as much learning in as you can handle. Ultimate Endurance25 Sep 2010 - £145Based on UK Special Forces Selection, this challenge has been much written about, and is known around the world as the ultimate test of fitness and grit. The Beacons Bimble - Long Bimble25 Sep 2010 - £From the organisers of the Sleepwalker Night Race - BIGGER HILLS! LONGER DISTANCES! MORE WEIGHT! We are proud to offer you 4 events in one, with a choice of distances, and a choice of how much weight to carry. 14 Fans Ultra - 70kms carrying min. 15lbs 7 Fans Run - 35kms carrying min. 15lbs Both of these challenges may be done in fell running shoes. They will feel similar in scope to Elite/A and B class OMM or similar. Long Bimble - 70kms carrying min. 40lbs Speed Bimble - 35kms carrying min. 40lbs These are serious but achievable undertakings which must be completed in boots (military or 3 season walking). Rucksac weight will comprise food/water spare clothing and emergency kit. The Brecon Beacons is famous as a walking destination and as a military training area and over the years many have felt the challenge these South Wales mountains can offer. Can you meet the challenge? Whether a military endurance test, or an expedition necessity, true hill fitness and determination can only be proved whilst carrying your equipment. Do not underestimate this event - the Long Bimble makes most so-called 'Xtreme' events seem like a warm-up! You need to arrive well trained and determined to succeed but it will be worth it. Further details to be added soon Jungle Survival Experience05 Feb 2012 - £5th to 19th February 2012 (tbc) In the company of local Mayan guides and our own survival instructors here is an opportunity to join an exploratory expedition to the densely jungled mountains, and coastal swamplands of Belize, Central America. We already have trusted local contacts out in Belize, and will be accepting applications for this expedition whilst we finalise the objectives. Expect to be covering all the elements of survival training in a real jungle, and to be practicing on a daily basis. Highlights to include an ascent of various remote jungle peaks, living wild in the jungle for at least a week continuously, and potentialy a multi day river expedition. Price is likely to be approx £2000 plus airfares which can be had quite cheaply via Houston or Miami. |
