Are you ready for this challenging four day survival course?

You will put your new survival skills into practice in our unique exercise phase, finding yourself in an emergency scenario which only you and your fellow delegates can get out of. The course will follow a format of 2 days instruction, then 2 days practical.

The Nice Bit.
The instructional phase takes place in a private wood near the village of Talybont on Usk. Wildlife is abundant and we may have the opportunity to observe the resident Badgers as they hunt and play. There is ample diversity here to allow all of the survival skills to be taught and practised, and best of all - there are full facilities - Yes - Hot Showers the lot! This is where we return to after the exercise phase to make ourselves human again.

The Tough Bit.
The 2 day exercise phase will involve a lot of walking, and not much in the way of food or shelter. Rain, Sun, Midges, Mud and not much sleep is probably what you will get (sounds like Glastonbury). THIS IS REALITY, and it will only last for 2 days. Afterwards you'll have an insight into yourself that you could never get from the sofa! Think of all those treats you'll deserve.

But remember - only download the pdf or phone if you think you can cope with 4 days 'in the field'. We'll be looking after you, of course, but it may still feel a bit tough (especially if the weather is wet). You need to be physically fit.

By invitation, successful delegates will have the opportunity to attend advanced expeditions being planned for 2009
And it's worth saying again - this is the only one in 2008 summer months. **Highly recomended**

'Long Drag' Winter warm up

SAS Selection is considered the hardest test of fitness and determination, not only because of the fierce and challenging hill marches - but because of the cumulative effect of doing it day after day!

IF you are on the Long Drag Winter Extreme, AND you have/ are doing the training necessary, then you might like to consider coming a day early. Believe me 3 days is sooo much harder than 2 and you will have achieved something quite special if you make it through...

'Long Drag' Winter Extreme. Date Change

A severe test of endurance suitable for the fittest and most determined walkers. You won't know how far you must go, but plan on fast walking for up to 24 hours carrying a load of around 30kg. You can, of course, stop at any checkpoint if it is too hard.

Excellent map reading, previous hill walking experience and self reliance will be required as you enter this event entirely at your own risk!
