Hi, I'm Duncan Clark, and I've been trading as North Ridge Adventure since 2002.
My old teacher took us on a walking expedition X-Wales over the Black Mountains and Bannau Brycheiniog at 12 years old. Since then I've been an avid walker, trail runner and traveler.
Service in UKSF (Reserve) gave me an additional skillset which is complimentary to my love of adventure. Qualified Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, FPOSi 1st Aid, Survival Instructor and 4 decades of experience.
After a cancer diagnosis in 2018 and 3 major surgeries I took a break to fully recover and am back now 100% fit. I'm looking forward to 'paying forward' the knowledge I've accumulated to help my fellow adventurers either get started or to up their game.
My approach to Adventure is engaging and based on long experience of what works and what does not in all environments. If you are keen and committed to learning some new skills and habits then I promise to support you all the way!
There are 3 priorities which can be learned quite quickly:
1. Fitness.
Everything starts with your own two feet and how far they can carry you so working on fitness is a must!
2. Outdoor Skills.
Build your skillset and confidence in trekking, kit choices, map reading, camping & general outdoor living.
3. Safety.
Appreciation of risks and planning for all eventualities. Safety and possibly survival knowledge means you will be 'ready for Adventure'.
If you’re ready to lead a more adventurous life, elevate your fitness and ignite your confidence in the outdoors – let’s Adventure together!
