The Bushcraft & Survival area at the Ordnance Survey Outdoor Show delivered more action packed fun than ever before! See video clip here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezpk5KgmsGw The North Ridge Adventure stand was constantly busy with loads of enquiries about courses, gear and techniques for survival - later on the weekend we even held an impromptu fire lighting competition on the stand, with a big interest in the respective flammability of sheeps wool vs puffball vs cedar cone! Shame I burned my palm slapping out a somewhat excessive fire but the great fun we all had on the stand more than made up for it! There were loads of attractions including the ice climbing tower, brush boarding and scuba tank and demonstrations by the Royal Marines and some crazy mountain boarders. Best of all though, had to be the Bushcraft village, with so much activity all weekend. Gransfors Bruks were forging axes there and there was non stop activity in the village. Duncan from North Ridge Adventure was on stage twice a day - drawing big crowds with talks/ demos on SAS survival tins vs civilian applications, and with hands on trap-line demos and snare setting techniques. Hundreds signed up for our newsletter and the chance to win a free course, but if you missed it you can still sign up on this site - we'll add you on for the next edition! Remember, if you're on our mailing list you can get 15% off any course booked and paid for by the end of April June! Just register to take advantage of this great offer. For those who visited us at the show, it was great to meet you, and we hope to see you again - and if you weren't there this year, maybe we'll see you in 2010?
In association with Bushcraft & Survival Skills Magazine, we exhibited on our very own stand this year! Located in the WILDERNESS CAMP, we'll be part of the BUSHCRAFT VILLAGE - a thriving area of the show of many demos and interesting exhibits, including the Gransfors Bruks Forge (Axe forging demos).
