Whether you're an elite athlete or weekend warrior loking for a fantastic challenge you are invited to check out The BEACONS BIMBLE, probably the toughest day event in the UK. Run by us for the last 3 years under the title 'Ultimate Endurance' we are confident to make this claim... This unique challenge event is not to be missed. Forget the other 2 hour 'tough guy' events being advertised - this is one which will build its own reputation by word of mouth - just like the Sleepwalker Night Race has already done! If you are looking for a worthy challenge this year, something different and dare we say 'old skool' then this could be it...the original idea was to offer a taste of what Special Forces selection (well a small bit of it) might feel like - but it serves also as an expedition type fitness test in its own right....so if you're planning a Polar expedition or a big mountain trip you can test team fitness here first! Time to start training now folks... and having listened to all the feedback we have pared the event down to the core essentials - it is now easier to choose an event because we have simplified the categories, plus it is cheaper! All entries will be individual, however if you wish to form teams/ pairs etc just let us know... The Beacons Bimble will be 40 miles, carrying 40 lbs! - strictly for the experienced... The Half Bimble will be 20 miles carrying 40 lbs - why not see how you go on this shorter route? Speed Bimble will be 20 miles carrying 20 lbs - for the racing snakes (back in time for beer & BBQ!) These are serious but achievable undertakings which must be completed in boots (military or 3 season walking). Rucksac weight will comprise food/water spare clothing and emergency kit. The Brecon Beacons is famous as a walking destination and as a military training area and over the years many have felt the challenge these South Wales mountains can offer. Can you meet the challenge? Whether a military endurance test, or an expedition necessity, true hill fitness and determination can only be proved whilst carrying your equipment. You need to arrive well trained and determined to succeed but we promise you it will be worth it. The route is fantastic. NB: all distances will have cut off times in force. If you wish to discuss your suitability or any other related matter please phone or email - we will be happy to help you. Organisers reserve the right to modify routes in the event of severe weather. PS. all being well we will have 24hour catering sorted for the event PPS. fit but can't map read? Why not enquire about getting one of our experienced staff to guide you round?
