UPDATE TO PREVIOUS ARTICLE:

Perry will be at the Wilderness Gathering, doing demos, talks etc on tracking and especially man-tracking. Come and see him (and us) down in Wiltshire between the 19th and 22nd August!

PerryMcGee, son of the late, famous Eddie McGee who did so much to encourage survival skills, is seen here at the North Ridge stand showing off a special piece of SAS memorabilia. Any ideas what it is? If you are coming on the Survival Instructor course then here is your first bit of homework!

It was good to meet Perry, and we look forwards to working together with him in the future and will hope to invite him as a guest speaker on next year's instructor course. Perry is the co-author of The Tracking Handbook and with over 32 years in the industry and currently a Police tracker, he is a genuine authority. Watch out for the book release - the ISBN is  1-905546-61-0.

Overall, the Wilderness Camp, organised by Bushcraft and Survival Skills magazine was a great success, and this years layout showed what a professional and cohesive industry this has become. There were 5 schools plus some specialist traders in the central area, with ourselves being clearly differentiated in terms of our clear Survival focus and ability to operate in the mountain environment in addition to the lowland/ forest environment.

Apparently next year's show is moving to London, however only today I took a call from the organiser of a replacement NEC show, attached to the Boat and Caravan show...watch this space!
